The History

The first community foundations in Poland were established in the late 1990s. At the beginnging they were supported by the Academy for the Development of Philanthropy in Poland, but gradually began to build their independence, which contributed to the creation of an informal network of community funds in 2000, and the Federation registered in 2009 by the National Court Register – Community Foundations in Poland (FFL). Currently, there are 15 funds associated with the FFL, covering over 50 municipalities with their activities.

Activity

We create space and look for development opportunities for pro-social and business activities based on common goals and values. By sharing our knowledge with others, we inspire, support, create change and strengthen local foundations and their partners in action

Local funds that we support:

operate in the area of local development,
support activities to improve the quality of life of the local community,
implement granting, scholarship and educational programs,
build local partnerships with business, public administration, the NGO sector and the media,
they take care of various sources of financing and build capital endowment.

Figures and facts

During 20 years of operation, local funds associated in the FFL:
awarded over 3,500 subsidies for the amount of nearly PLN 11 million
funded nearly 5,800 scholarships in the amount of PLN 8.1 million
have endowment capital of PLN 3.3 million
employ over 100 people
in 2020, they achieved revenues of over PLN 10 million
